NAILS FOR A RAINY DAY

Accessories like a light grey nail varnish and a little bag are lovely because they compliment many outfits. Grey nail varnish has come into fashion recently and we've tested out a couple of shades - Barry M Speedy Quick Dry in Pitstop and NailsInc in When Doves Cry. This bag was a treasure we found in TKMaxx by Osprey for £30 and we love its simplicity and quality.

EVERYDAY MAKEUP: ROSEY TONES

When wearing makeup everyday, you often get into a routine and find a look that you can speed through in the mornings. Currently, we have been going for rosey toned products to create a fresh faced glow that looks so pretty for your daily face of products.

CURLS, CURLS, CURLS

Over summer, we've found a few hairstyles that we keep going back to time and time again. Our favourite way to wear them is with loose curls created with the BaByliss Curling Wand Pro, but they also look lovely with straight hair. They can be dressed up or down which is why they're perfect for every occasion.

YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT & FAUX CILS MASCARA

YSL is such a luxury beauty brand and the quality of their products is beautiful. The Touché Éclat highlighting pen is definitely a cult product in the beauty world, it's been around since 1991 and over time the line has gone from only 2 shades to 8 shades so there is a match for everyone. They have also become famous from their mascaras and the Faux Cils formula has been on our list to try for quite some time.

MARC JACOBS: DAISY PERFUMES

What originally drew us to these Marc Jacobs perfumes was the cute packaging. We love the flower detailing and the simplistic clear bottle. Both are very fresh, florally scents which makes them more suited as a spring/summer fragrance.

CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICKS: THE PINKS

Clinique were one of the first cosmetic companies to bring out a lipstick in the crayon form - they now have two lines of their cult favourite Chubby Stick: the original formula and the intense formula. Although they have a wide colour variety, we have been loving the pink shades which range from soft pink to a dark berry.

DEALING WITH COMBINATION SKIN

Combination skin is something that both of us deal with: an oily spotty t-zone and dry cheeks. It can be a real struggle to find products that not only combat acne and mattify our shine but also moisturise the dry skin on our cheeks. There are very few products that we have found to work so we thought we would share our tips as well as favourites for dealing with combination skin...

TRAVEL MAKEUP

When you go on holiday, it is always nice to go slightly lighter and more natural with your makeup - especially if you are going on long day trips in the sun. We always like to use long-lasting products so that you don't have to carry around makeup for touch-ups throughout the day and so that it doesn't just melt off your face in the heat! Often you take quite a few photos whilst away and using products with slight golden shimmer can enhance your tan. Here are a few of our favourite things *cue Sound of Music*

As Benefit offer lots of cute gift sets with miniatures of their most famous products, we've been able to try a wide variety of their make-up. If you want to try out Benefit, getting one of their sets is a cheaper way of trying lots of different products without spending lots of money on something you might not like. 

LA ROCHE POSAY: BLEMISH SOLUTIONS

Like most other late teenagers, we have both suffered with acne and oily skin. There are hundreds of products out there targeted at reducing or stopping spots with claims of working miracles but realistically nothing will get rid of acne overnight. If you have been struggling with your skin, we highly recommend La Roche Posay products from their Effaclar range.

URBAN DECAY NAKED BASICS

Matte eyeshadows are an essential of every makeup collection (in our books) because they don't have shimmer, they are slightly more suited for the day time. We love the Urban Decay Basic palettes which come in two tones each with six shadows ranging from light to dark. Every shadow is beautifully pigmented and blendable making for easy application.

BARRY M SPEEDY DRY NAIL POLISH: EAT MY DUST

Although we love painting our nails, it can be a bit of a chore from time to time. It sucks when you spend a good half an hour painting your nails perfectly and then go and smudge them the second you finish because they aren't quite dry! When we saw these polishes on the aisles of Boots we thought it may just be another attempt at quick dry polish but Barry M have succeeded . . .

It's fair to say that between the two of us we have bought quite a few new things in the last couple of weeks. We thought we'd give you a quick review of our first impressions on the products... 

UNDER EYE CONCEALERS

Finding the perfect under eye concealer at a reasonable price is not an easy task. None have the best shade range or are the perfect under eye concealers. We have found that the majority do work to highlight under the eyes and take away from the purple tones, but none of them really fully cover up the circles without creasing or not blending out. Despite the fact that they aren't perfect, we have found a few that do the job!

Deciding on two eyeshadows for a duo is really hard: these two shades make a perfect neutral palette that is perfect for everyday.

MAYBELLINE COLOUR TATTOO

Cream eyeshadows are the perfect product for a quick and easy eye look or for creating a base for eyeshadow. Maybelline Colour Tattoos are the best drugstore option, as they are opaque and super blendable. If you have oily eyelids, then we suggest using a primer first which extends the staying power. It still doesn't last for 24 hours like it says- but then again, who wears make-up for 24 hours?!

REAL TECHNIQUES TRAVEL ESSENTIALS SET

Unfortunately, when we go away on holiday we can’t take all our brushes with us... Real Techniques have solved this problem by bringing out the travel essentials kit. These full-sized brushes are made up of a powder, eyeshadow and foundation brush. The set also comes with a panoramic travel case, which isn’t the most attractive thing in the world but does come in handy for transporting your brushes.
